Dr. Andrew Weil MD
Who is Dr. Weil?

Dr. Andrew Weil is one of the most influential
personalities in the alternative health field. He is a
Harvard Medical School graduate who also holds an AB
degree in biology (botany) from Harvard University. At
his ranch in Tucson, Ariz., Dr. Weil does his writing
from his home office, and has two dogs, both Rhodesian
Ridgebacks. He maintains a large organic garden, full
of fruits and vegetables. He uses the fresh produce in
his own cooking, since he is an avid home-chef.
Dr. Weil is also at the forefront of the
Integrative Medicine movement. After completing his
medical training, Dr. Weil reported he had a gut
feeling that should he become ill, he would not want
to be treated by conventional methods. He believes in
the power of natural medicine, and through his books,
lectures, television and radio appearances, and his
web site, www.drweil.com, he enlightens millions of
people around the world about the principles of
Optimum Health.
Weil is also a best-selling author and editorial
director of DrWeil.com, an online resource for healthy
living based on an integrative medicine philosophy.
Weil’s books include the national bestsellers Spontaneous
Healing, 8 Weeks to Optimum Health, Eating
Well for Optimum Health, and The Healthy
Kitchen. He also authors the popular Self
Healing newsletter and a monthly column for Prevention
magazine. As a frequent guest on Larry King Live
and Oprah, Weil provides information and
insight on how to incorporate conventional and
complementary medicine practices in one’s life to
optimize the body’s natural healing mechanisms.
